This bundle of easy-prep stock market lessons and activities will deepen your student’s knowledge of investing and the stock market and provide engaging opportunities for exploration while focusing on real-world math skills.

Students will be introduced to the concepts needed to understand the stock market and then have multiple opportunities to explore it independently. They’ll also learn and practice the real-world math skills needed to fully understand the stock market, including percent change, capital gains/losses, dividends, and more.

This bundle includes:

• Understanding the Stock Market Lesson – This easy-prep lesson will teach students the basics of the stock market, including buying and selling stocks, stock prices, stock exchanges, dividends, and interpreting the information on a stock quote page. The lesson includes a set of Google Slides, guided notes for students, and an answer key.
• Stock Market Exploration Activity – Students will independently research individual stocks using a finance website. They’ll learn how to locate and interpret ticker symbols, current prices, high and low prices, dividends, and daily change. They’ll also apply real-world math skills as they calculate the cost of their investments.
• Tracking a Stock Activity – Students will choose one stock and record its price each day over a five, seven, or ten-day period. They will calculate the change in price and the percent increase or decrease each day and plot the price on a graph. At the end of the tracking period, they will calculate the overall profit or loss and rate of return on their investment.
• Stock Market Calculations Lesson – This lesson will help your students apply real-world math skills to the stock market. Topics include capital gains/losses, dividends, percent change, rate of return, and more.
• Stock Market BINGO Game – Review and practice basic stock market and investing vocabulary, calculating capital gains, percent change, rate of return, dividends, and more with this fun financial literacy bingo game.
