Description
This easy prep, engaging personal financial literacy activity will introduce students to the basic types and purposes of insurance. Students will independently research two types of insurance by investigating who each type protects, what types of things insurance covers, and what types of events it excludes.
One type of insurance will be common (home, auto, etc.), and the other will be uncommon (haunted house insurance, body part insurance, and more!) to give students an idea of how insurance can cover a broad range of things.
This activity works well as the first day of an insurance unit or as a stand-alone activity that will get students thinking about the types of insurance available as they become adults.
