Description

This financial literacy lesson and partner practice activity will prepare your students for earning their first paycheck by teaching them everything they need to know about basic laws governing hourly pay and overtime wages, calculating hourly wages, and calculating overtime pay at various rates.

The lesson includes Google Slides for easy teaching. Guided notes for students are also included. The guided notes follow the Google Slides and include practice and example problems for students.

Following the lesson, students will have the opportunity to practice their learning with a self-checking activity!

How the partner practice activity works: One student will do the ‘Partner A’ side of the worksheet, and their partner will do the ‘Partner B’ side. They have different (but similar) questions, but they can check their answers with their partner because their answers will be the same!
