These financial literacy lessons and activities will prepare your students for earning their first paycheck by teaching them everything they need to know about hourly pay, overtime wages, commissions, salaries, and tips! They’ll learn about basic laws governing wages, as well as how to calculate each type of pay!

Topics and Resources Included:

• Understanding Wages – Hourly & Overtime Pay: Students will learn about laws governing hourly and overtime pay. They’ll practice calculating wages in a variety of scenarios. Includes Google Slides, Guided Notes, and a self-checking partner practice activity!
• Understanding Wages – Salaries, Commissions, & Tips: Students will learn about pay periods for annual salaries (including biweekly, bimonthly, and monthly), as well as how to calculate pay, including commissions and tips. Includes Google Slides, Guided Notes, and a self-checking circuit practice worksheet.
• Wages BINGO Game: This fun, whole-class game includes 40 unique bingo cards and 35 practice questions on Google Slides. Includes practice questions about hourly wages, overtime pay, salaries, commissions, and tips.
