Practice applications of percents, including calculating sales taxes, tips, and discounts with this engaging consumer math activity! Students will practice finding the percent of a number, finding the percentage rate when given a tax or discounted price, and more.

How it works: Students will work individually or in pairs to solve 24 questions. They’ll cut apart the puzzle pieces, then assemble them by pairing each question number to its solution.

Topics include:

• Calculating a discount amount
• Calculating the final price after a discount
• Finding the percent discount when given an original and sale price
• Calculating a tip
• Calculating a sales tax
• Finding the final price of an item, including sales tax
• Finding the sales tax rate when giving the price and tax amount
