Description

Practice planning a Thanksgiving or Christmas meal on a budget with this fun math and financial literacy activity. Students will gain practical experience in creating meal plans and grocery lists on a budget. They are asked to create a menu for a holiday meal and then ‘shop’ online for their ingredients while staying within a set budget.

This activity works well for Thanksgiving or Christmas, but is non-holiday-specific, so it can be tailored to any holiday your students celebrate.

Students will need internet access to look up the current prices of each grocery item. My students love the practical experience of looking up grocery prices and planning their own meals.

There is a digital version of this activity available here! A bundle of both digital and paper versions is available here.
