This easy prep personal finance lesson will provide students with the real-world math skills needed to understand the information on a W2 Tax Form and common paycheck deductions. The included Google Slides walk students through realistic W-2s line by line. Includes guided notes and a practice worksheet!

*Updated for 2025!* This lesson currently uses 2024 W-2s and will be updated again in 2026 when 2025 Tax Forms become available!

This lesson teaches the purpose of a W-2 and the information it provides. Students will fill out their notes as you walk them through the Google Slides presentation, then they’ll complete a 10-question worksheet using a sample W-2. Answer key is included.
