Description
Includes 16 questions requiring students to read and interpret pay stubs! Topics include locating specific information on a pay stub, deductions, income taxes, comparing income between two pay stubs, gross vs. net income, and year-to-date vs current income. Students are provided two realistic sample pay stubs to use as they answer the questions.
This activity is intended to be extra practice, and students should already be familiar with interpreting information on pay stubs before completing this activity. If you’re looking for instructional materials that will teach students about the information that can be found on a pay stub, please consider this lesson: Understanding Your Pay Stub Lesson – Includes Guided Notes and Practice!
There is also a DIGITAL version of this activity available. The digital version uses Google Forms. You can find the digital version here.
How this scavenger hunt works: Hang the question cards around the room. Students can start on any card. After they believe they have answered their first question, they will look around the room for their answer on the top of another card. This becomes their second question. Students will continue until they have answered all 16 questions, and their last question leads them back to the question where they started.
