Description
Hands-on activity using tracing paper! This easy prep, rigid transformations exploration activity will guide students through discovering the coordinate rules for translating a figure up, down, right, and left!
Students will use tracing, wax, or parchment paper to investigate the effects of translating a figure on its coordinates. They will trace a figure onto the tracing paper and slide the paper to find the new coordinates, as well as write an algebraic rule to represent the translation. Also includes practice problems for students to practice this skill.
To complete this activity, each student will need one small square of transparent paper. Tissue, wax, parchment, and tracing papers all work well.
